Thompson Creek Trail

Connectivity for pedestrians and bicyclists is a key component for success of proposed development and overall quality of life for La Vista residents. Thompson Creek provides an ideal corridor for a recreational trail that will connect the new Civic Center Park with the Keystone Trail, allowing easy access to an extensive trail system. The channel corridor will also be improved to provide a park like setting.

Currently, a rehabilitation project for a portion of Thompson Creek in Central Park East is in the final design stages and is anticipated to be put out for bid in fall 2021. Construction is planned to begin winter 2022 and last through the 2022 construction season. Through that project, the existing sidewalk near Thompson Creek will be replaced. Construction of the Thompson Creek Trail from 72nd Street to Edgewood may begin in 2025.
